Dean Gustar

Relapse Prevention Specialist (Advisory)

Dean is based in Switzerland but trained in the UK as an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and Counselling Supervisor. He is keen on keeping up-to-date with new research and developments within the therapeutic field and advises the Back on Track charity to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to providing the best possible support. He worked for many years in the UK building and developing services like Chandos House; supporting clients and staff to deliver high-quality care.

His natural, down-to-earth approach helps previous and new clients to feel at ease and be open to the idea and process of change. Dean knows that the core conditions of empathy, congruence and acceptance are the foundations for establishing an environment where growth and change can occur and that an individual with these foundations will be capable of moving forward of transforming their lives.

Dean has a passion for helping others. He believes in the ability of human beings to be able to turn around situations which on the surface may appear hopeless. He loves seeing people making positive changes, achieving their goals and reconnecting with their own potential. When this transformation occurs, it impacts not only on the individual but also on their families and communities.
